Chocolate Covered Rice Krispie Treats with M&Ms are both fancy and fun! They are as fun and easy to make as the original recipe but made more delicious with brown butter, M&Ms and mini marshmallows!

Brown the butter: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. It will start to foam. Continue stirring as you watch for it to turn to an amber color then a medium brown and develop a nutty smell. Remove from heat.

Stir 9 ¼ cups of mini marshmallows into the brown butter until the marshmallows have melted. Next, stir in the vanilla extract and salt. –

Stir in the Rice Krispies until the Rice Krispies are coated with the marshmallow.

Allow to cool in the pot for 5 minutes. Once the mixture has cooled slightly, fold in the remaining 1 ¾ cups of marshmallows followed by the M&Ms.

Spread the rice krispie treats into a pan. Allow to set 30 minutes. Slice, drizzle or cover with chocolate and enjoy!
